The Weaver’s Craft
Weaving, a craft made out of the gear you were going to sell
Grand Weaver Orenna keeps a loom for anyone willing to learn. Take a piece you have no use for, unweave it into essence and crystal, and weave that back onto something you actually wear. Unweaving destroys the piece it came from, so the loom asks you to confirm before anything rare or better goes on it, and legendaries cannot be unwoven at all.
Twenty nine weave patterns, and you have to find them
A pattern has to be discovered before you can weave it, and the rare ones come off three star dungeon bosses. The Patterns page tracks what you have found at each strength. A woven piece keeps its own place in your bag, so two identical helms no longer share a stack when only one of them is woven, and a weave that triggers mid fight shows on the combat strip while it is up.
Fifteen profession masters, and a tool for every tier
One master for each gathering and crafting profession. Each hands you your first tool for nothing and sells the five above it, and a profession tier now needs the tool that belongs to it. They have a great deal to say while you work your way up.
Three new three star dungeons
Witherwood Rotheart, the Wardstone Marches and the Shipbone Deeps join the top of the game, bringing it to six, with four new bosses between them. The three star bosses are where the endgame armour sets come from, and they are the only place the rare weave patterns drop, so a run is worth doing for two reasons at once.
Five endgame armour sets
Crownwarden for tanks, Blackwood Stalker for rogues, Farstrider for archers, Emberweave for casters and Dawnweave for healers. Six pieces each, and each set grows as you wear more of it: health and magic resistance for the tank, accuracy and evasion and deadlier poison for the rogue, attack speed and lifesteal and a faster Aimed Shot for the archer, a spell damage ramp that builds as you cast for the mage, and mana, a shorter Aegis of the Crown, and healing that leaves an absorb shield behind for the healer.
The sets are spread across every boss
Thirty pieces, one slot at a time, across all twelve three star bosses. Every set spans all six dungeons and every boss carries pieces from two or three different sets, so no build has a single dungeon to farm and no run is dead loot for the person standing next to you.
Three star dungeons stopped being a slog
Nine encounters that were elites are ordinary fights again, and the ordinary packs between them are back. The middle of a run used to be three or four minutes a fight with nothing to catch your breath on.
The vault has a keeper, and shelves you can afford
Halloran, Master of Ledgers for the Calewren house, introduces himself once your vault starts filling. He explains the rule the vault never did: it counts kinds of thing, not how many, so five hundred arrows is one shelf. Every twenty five shelves you buy, the house adds five free, and those free ones do not push up the price of the next. Prices used to compound so hard that everything past about the fortieth shelf was decorative. They no longer do.
A quarter longer, deliberately
Professions and combat take about a quarter longer to train. Nothing you have already earned changes, and nobody loses a level.
The three high metals have new names
Tectonite, Lunarite and Solarite. The gear itself is unchanged, and anything already in your bags is the same piece it was.
Epics are worth the name
Epic gear was close enough to rare that the two bands nearly touched. An epic chest at the top tier is now a long way clear of its blue counterpart.
Fixes
- Market listings no longer cut their description off mid word.
- Fish from the old fishing ladder render and sell again instead of showing as blank rows in the vault.
- The character sheet lists your Starcalling blessings, grouped by constellation.
- While you are communing, the constellation page counts down how long the god stays in the sky.
- The music stops when you leave the app instead of carrying on in the background.
